March Update~ What is to come!

March Update~ What is to come!

Winter has been a full of intentional rest, creativity, learning, and evaluating how much I want to take on this year.  I wanted to take a moment to share what we've been up to and what we're looking forward to this spring.

The biggest joy this past year has been welcoming our first grandbaby into our family. I have been soaking up every moment I can with him, and I now typically spend a couple of days each week with him. It has been such a special season of life and I’m truly enjoying every minute.

I’ve also been spending time getting to know a new doggy addition, a 3 year old mini-aussie named Max.  He is bonding to us so well, and his training is coming along rapidly too.  He has been such a blessing as our nest empties.  Dolly, our older dog, passed away this fall and we had been waiting for the right dog to drop in our laps and it happened just like that!  We have a ways to go with his training, but he is proving eager and smart.

Bob and I have also tackled a few long-overdue updates around our home this winter. One of my bigger projects has been teaching myself how to build cabinets. It has definitely been a learning experience, but I’m hopeful they will turn out well in the end! Like most projects, it has taken a bit more time than expected, but it’s been rewarding to create something with my own hands.  I enjoy woodworking any chance I get.

Even with all of that going on, the excitement for the upcoming growing season is in full swing. I have been busy ordering plants & seeds and starting the growing process, and I am thrilled about the selection we will have available this year. In fact, we will have more plant varieties than ever before!

This season I’ve decided to scale back a bit on our cut flower production to better match the time I have available. While that means fewer cut flowers, it also means I have much more room in the greenhouse to grow a wider variety of beautiful plants for you to enjoy in your own gardens. I’m really excited about the colorful assortment that will be available to brighten your yards and garden spaces.

Our dahlia sale is also underway, and I would love for you to take a look at the varieties we are offering this year. You can browse the collection on our website here (and I would really appreciate it if you shared this link with anyone you think might enjoy dahlias).

As always, thank you for supporting our small farm. Your encouragement, kind messages, and visits to our sales mean more than you know. I’m so grateful to be part of this wonderful community of gardeners and flower lovers.

We’ll also be announcing our upcoming local plant sale events soon, and I’m looking forward to seeing many of you there. Until then, feel free to reach out anytime with questions or just to say hello.

Wishing you all a wonderful start to the gardening season. I can’t wait to share another beautiful year of growing with you.
